If you ever see CC labeled as something like ‘unsupported, use at your own risk’, that means the creator is no longer active and won’t be updating any old mods if they break. If the creator is inactive or has stopped modding, the mod will just become obsolete. Active CC creators usually patch their mods when this happens, so if it happens to you just check their site/blog/whatever and download the updated mod when it comes, or message them to let them know its happening if they appear to be unaware (tho be sure the mod is actually broken, and its not something like you downloaded a recolor but not the mesh).
Broken CC won’t mess up your game other than the mod won’t properly display (usually it will disappear entirely, so for example if your sim was wearing a hair mod that broke, they’ll appear bald). One thing tho, aesthetic CC can break, usually because an update to the game changed something that messed with the mod. The only aesthetic CC I can think of that could potentially cause such problems would maybe be custom sliders, tho I’ve never had problems with this personally. Aesthetic CC like you’re describing won’t mess up your game, only mods that change the game itself can potentially funk things up.
